The last week has been amazing. The thermometer hovered around 30 degrees, the skies were blue and the trails were dry. We did another of our group rides around the upper part of lake Zurich. Twelve people showed up for what turned out to be a great evening of riding singletrail and eating pizza. A big thank you to everyone who showed up and we are looking forward to many more evenings like it through the summer.

A quick break on the side of the lake to take in the scenery.
The singletrail along the lakeside is a perfect cross country playground.

The weekend was a good mix of old and new. The cable car from Laax to Crap Sogn Gion opened on Saturday for the first time in a number of years. This allowed us access to some great trails in the region. The majority of people on the lift were equiped with full downhill rigs and only riding “the never end” which is the official freeride trail from Crap Sogn Gion to Laax. Instead we climbed another 300m to Crap Masegn and took a trail down to Falera. After the crowds on the lift putting some ascending in got us well away from them and allowed us to ride what felt like our own private trails. We did come back later for a run down “the never end” which is a very fun trail, but can be happily ridden on smaller 5-6inch bikes.

For me the highlight of the day was the trail from Crap Masegn down to Falera and the one from Flims down to the Rhine gorge lookout and further down to the gorge itself.

On Sunday we drove over Julier pass to the Engadin valley to ride some of our old favourite trails in the Corviglia, Piz Nair region. A landslide had closed off Bernina pass which prevented us getting up to ride the trail down to Poschiavo, but there was still plenty of options to ride amazing singletrail staying in the Engadin valley.

For me riding in Engadin is always a highlight. Panoramic singletrails at 2700m above sea level, rocky alpine descents and amazing scenery make Engadin a must visit place.
