There are a huge number of resources available for ski touring here in Switzerland.

Avalanche Report:

The daily avalanche report published at 5 pm each day (during the winter months) and updated at 8am in the morning.

www.slf.ch (or download the white risk app)

Maps:

Swiss topo maps are readily available for the whole country and include a lot of extra features like ski touring routes, slope steepnesses, wildlife reserves etc.

https://map.geo.admin.ch/

If you want to add in the ski touring routes start to type "ski" or "schnee" (device language dependant) into the search box and you will get the option to display the routes. The same applies to slope steepness, wildlife reserves and many more layers that can be superimposed on the map.

You can also download up to 50MB of maps to use offline or print out the map at whatever scale you want to take with you on your tour.

Weather:

For the next day's weather, I find the visual display from the local television station very good.

https://www.srf.ch/meteo/prognose-schweiz

But also the Meteo Suisse app on smartphones gives some quite good local weather forecasts. The avalanche report also has good information regarding new-fallen snow etc.

Routes:

There are a couple of websites which give information regarding ski touring routes in Switzerland.

www.gipfelbuch.ch

www.skitourenguru.ch

Gipfelbuch often has reported from people that were out on the route recently which provides (in german) information on prevailing conditions in the area. Ski Touren Guru often has automatic risk assessment algorithms which do not necessarily take into account any observations which real people may have had in the area.

Are there any other resources you use when going out on ski tours?
